Dogs in the Navy

Christenson, Scot

Dogs have been loyal companions to human since ancient times, long before these wolf descendants were domesticated as our pets. Loyal and trainable, dogs served many purposes on ships, ranging from guarding the deck, to keeping watch over sailors on shore in dangerous warzones. The adventurous exploits of dogs at sea in the service of navies are explored here by author Scot Christenson. Filled with informative text and more than one hundred photos, Dogs in the Navy provides a fun history of our canine friends who rode the waves with us.
