Alla Prima Skies and Seas

Stopforth, Mark

Alla Prima Skies and Seas is a thorough guide to this exciting technique whereby paint is applied quickly over previous washes and layers of pigment before it dries. Mark Stopforth demonstrates how the technique can be used without a brush to powerfully portray skies and seas. He explains further how it allows for bold, strong artwork that echoes the enigmatic styles of Turner, Van Gogh and Constable.
